The Dormer HSS Cobalt Weldon Shank End Mill (No. 273 – Long Series) is a long-series multi-flute cutter designed for shoulder and slot milling applications. It is designed for shoulder and slot milling in free machining and plain carbon steels as well as copper and copper alloys. It pairs a robust HSS-E powder-metallurgical cobalt core with a flat Weldon shank for secure, repeatable performance, delivering consistent, accurate cuts even in challenging depths thanks to its long-series geometry.

The series features spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction and a 30° helix angle, manufactured to the DIN 844L standard with a bright finish. The cutter is available in 4-flute configuration across most sizes, with the largest diameter sizes (7/8" and 1") featuring 5 flutes for improved surface finish and chip evacuation on demanding cuts.

The Weldon flat shank design provides a secure, slip-resistant grip in the toolholder, ensuring reliable, repeatable cutting performance under the lateral forces generated during shoulder and slot milling operations.
