The P100 Bolt Milling Burr is used first, to grind the rough, broken surface of the bolt flat. The P101 Bolt Centring Burr is then used to cut a center point in the flattened surface, ensuring a hole can be drilled centrally in the bolt for the next stage of the extraction process (typically followed by a stub drill and screw extractor, sold separately).

Both burrs are solid carbide and suitable for use on steel, cast steel, and ferritic, martensitic, and austenitic stainless steel. Each is available in sizes 4.9mm, 6.4mm, 7.8mm, 9.3mm, and 10.7mm to match different broken bolt diameters.
