The drills in this set are Dormer's A002 jobber drills with a special 118° split point to help self-center the drill when drilling by hand, eliminating wandering across the workpiece surface and providing a more accurate, better-finished hole. The tip is coated with titanium nitride (TiN), which increases the life of the drill and improves performance when drilling harder materials. Made from high speed steel, the A002 platform is suitable for drilling a wide range of materials including steels, aluminium, and stainless steel.

The set is supplied in a distinctive round plastic "Select-A Drill" rotating dispenser case, making size selection simple — rotate the clear plastic top until the hole in the case sits above the size required, turn the set upside down, and the correct drill drops out, one at a time. This eliminates the need to sort through loose drills or fumble to return them to the correct slot. The set is manufactured to DIN 338 standards and offers a 4xD drilling depth for general-purpose use.
