The Ridgid SF-2500 SuperFreeze Pipe Freezing Kit is a professional-grade, self-contained pipe freezing unit that allows plumbers and contractors to make repairs on live water systems without the need to shut down the entire system. This mini-refrigeration unit circulates self-contained refrigerant to its aluminum freeze heads, forming an ice plug in as little as 6 minutes. Once the ice plug is established, repairs can be carried out on the isolated section while the unit maintains the freeze — and when work is complete, the unit is simply switched off, allowing the ice plugs to melt and the system to return to full operation.

Unlike CO2 or nitrogen-based pipe freezing systems, the SF-2500 does not use consumable gas cylinders and does not require the release of refrigerants — making it a safer, more cost-effective, and environmentally responsible solution for repeated use on the job site. The unit uses a specially designed compressor with overload protection and includes quick restart capabilities. The freeze head hoses are leak-free flexible rubber, and the unit is enclosed in a portable carry case for easy transport between job sites.

The SF-2500 handles copper tube from 1/2" to 2-1/2" and steel pipe from 1/2" to 2" (230V version), covering a wide range of residential, commercial, and light industrial piping repair scenarios. The kit includes two 8-1/2 ft hoses with aluminum freeze heads, hook-and-loop straps with D-rings, CTS adapter bushings in 3/4", 1-1/4" and 2" sizes, a quick-grip clamp, water bottle, freeze gel, and a steel carrying case. A specially formulated freeze gel is included to speed the freezing process — applied to the freeze heads before placing on the pipe.
